Dorset And Somerset Air Ambulance

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance delivers a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service to the people of of the Counties of Dorset and Somerset in pursuit of its charitable obects; the relief of sickness and injury and the protection of human life. It operates an EC 135 helicopter from its airbase at Henstridge Airfield in Dorset, crewed by pilots from Bond Air Services and paramedics from South West Ambulance Services Trust. The service is available, during daylight hours, 365 days of the year. Raising the £1.7m pounds required to deliver the service is achieved through a variety of fundraising means but is focused on voluntary donations from individuals and groups. The biggest income stream is our own "Flight for Life" lottery. Fundraising events are often run on our behalf by our network of volunteers or by other sympathetic groups. Other income comes from recycling and third-party initiatives where the Charity receives a fixed percentage of of the sale price of goods.
