We all have something to offer and through Cotton Shed Theatre Company, our inclusive values encourage everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background, to access theatre and become a valued member. Contributing to ideas, direction and themes, each individual is encouraged to build their confidence and talent under the direction of professional artistic leaders. Every person is involved with acting, music, song and dance, whether they are able bodied and full of confidence, less confident, or have a disability or learning difficulty.
At Cotton Shed, everyone is welcome.
OUR HISTORY
In January 2007, the partnership of three schools had the vision to embark upon setting up an inclusive theatre company for Rossendale.
Cotton Shed became a part of London's renowned Chickenshed’s ‘Shedlink’ scheme and we have not looked back.
We work in a way that values all our members as equals and passionately believe in the power of our method, built on the teachings and support of Chickenshed, but driven forward by the exceptional talents of our Artistic Leaders, our membership is over 100 strong combining musical ability with dramatic interpretation with a stunning result.
Our overriding aim is for both our audience and theatre members to enjoy, be moved and inspired by performance. We bring together the creative energy of people who would never meet together anywhere, but here.
