CollabFeature

CollabFeature is a global team of independent filmmakers who have come together to create feature films consisting of multiple individual stories contributing to a unified, creative concept. Each filmmaker writes and directs his or her own content locally, in his or her own country, to create feature films that are globally minded with a multicultural narrative. The project was created by Detroit-based filmmaker Marty Shea and web developer Ian Bonner. There are 3 main CollabFeature projects in various stages: “The Owner”, “Train Station”, and “A Billion to One”. “The Owner”, our first international multi-director feature film, premiered in theatres around the world in 2012, earning international media attention, a Guinness World Record, a German IPTV Award for “Most Innovative Platform” and VOD distribution. Our second feature, “Train Station”, written and directed by 40 filmmakers from 25 countries, was recently finished and submitted to film festivals. Our third main project is “A Billion to One”, a digital series that follows storylines around the globe, is now in production. Plus, there have been a few side short films (“Last Statement” about death row inmates and 2 music videos for Santa Con events.) There are no short term plans to start any new projects soon, but the possibilities are endless. With each project, we raise our quality and creative standards and grow our audience. Concocted in Detroit, Michigan and reaching across the globe, CollabFeature created an online, virtual headquarters that provides access to all contributors. Part film-studio-part tech company, CollabFeature.com runs as a unique log-in website application that facilitates the collaboration and creation of low cost, quality multi-director films and series. The application guides each collaborator through and organizes the complexities of the collaboration process.
