Central Otago District Council

The Central Otago District Council’s purpose is to enable democratic local decision making to meet the current and future needs of communities for good-quality local infrastructure, local public services, and performance of regulatory functions in a way that is most cost-effective for households and businesses of Central Otago. Council’s roles include: providing leadership for the district; providing sustainable management of the local infrastructure; planning for the future needs of the district; and supporting local communities to achieve their community’s aspiration.
