Description
Information
The Carnegie UK Trust works to improve the lives of people throughout the UK and Ireland, by changing minds through influencing policy, and by changing lives through innovative practice and partnership work. The Carnegie UK Trust was established by Scots-American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1913. Our policy work seeks to develop and advocate for innovative, evidence-based solutions to contemporary public policy issues. Our work is organised under three themes: Enterprise and Society; Knowledge and Culture; and People and Place. We work across all jurisdictions of the UK and in the Republic of Ireland. Our Practice work takes forward the initiatives generated by policy and research and designs practical pilot projects, often to be undertaken in partnership with other organisations interested in working in the same areas. The process is one of continued feedback between policy development and practical work: policy work feeding into practical projects, and the outcomes of practice affecting our thinking and our public advocacy.
