Canadian Rivers Institute
The Canadian Rivers Institute (CRI), headquartered at Bailey Hall, University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is a leading research organization dedicated to the health and sustainability of freshwater and estuarine ecosystems. Founded in 2001, CRI emerged from a collaborative effort among researchers at the University of New Brunswick's Fredericton and Saint John campuses. With a vision to "make every river a healthy river," the institute focuses on developing the aquatic science necessary to understand, protect, and sustain water resources at local, national, and global levels.
The CRI boasts a robust team of 23 Science Directors, including 10 Canada Research Chairs, alongside 47 associates and 83 students, all supported by a dedicated staff of 22.
