What is CSS Hat? CSS Hat is a Photoshop plugin, which gives you CSS code for your layer styles. Just click a layer, see it's CSS, copy it into clipboard, and paste it into your favorite editor and you are ready to go! We built CSS Hat to support all common vendor prefixes - radial transparent gradient for Firefox? No problem! We even generate SVG for IE9. CSS Hat also takes measurements and detects rounded corners on vector shapes – so you can be sure to get the exact same thing in browser. Strokes, shadows, glows? We render them all, just check out the sample kit. The CSS Hat Philosophy We are not trying to parse whole PSD and give you complete HTML and CSS website. This idea is maybe great but from the beginning it can’t work. CSS Hat’s Future We will support LESS, SASS, COMPASS. We will also add other features like text properties etc. Who’s behind CSS Hat? CSS Hat started as a weekend project on Startup Weekend Prague, where the guys from CSS Piffle had an idea to translate Photoshop layer styles to CSS3. They started working on it and in 24 hours they conceived basic idea that actually worked on simple use cases.
