The Butler County Family YMCA was founded in 1886. Our Mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all has provided a positive foundation to thousands of people in Butler County for more than 130 years.
The Butler County Family YMCA includes two branches: the Butler YMCA located in the city of Butler and Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA in Cranberry Township. In addition, the YMCA owns and operates ARMCO Park in Slippery Rock Township.
Our pillars of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility support our Mission through a variety of programs including preschool, youth/teen/family classes and programming; land and water exercise classes for all fitness levels; chronic disease management programs; and programs that directly help people meet basic needs. Examples include: our backpack program for school children which helps to feed children on weekends and holidays; and support groups that offer childcare for families of those addicted to heroin and opioids.
We recognize that for communities to be successful, everyone should have an opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
