BuildMill
My name is Steven Holland and I have spent the past year building, modifying, and experimenting with 3D printing. I am confident that I can produce stunning and functional parts to suit my clients needs. As a recent graduate from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, I hope to help start-up businesses and local entrepreneurs realize their ideas through the new advances in 3D printing and digital drafting.
Professionally, I have worked in the aerospace industry as a design and manufacturing engineer, working on high profile programs such as the Boeing 787 and NASA’s Low Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD) program. I have also, briefly, worked as a project engineer overseeing some of the technical aspects of satellite manufacturing and customer relations.
In college, I was directly involved on our school’s Formula SAE team, where we designed and built a Formula 1-style race car from the ground up. As the brake system lead, I designed, optimized, and manufactured an entirely new and custom braking system for a car that was still only in the design phase. I also worked as the instrumentation lead on my senior design project, where I designed and made an open-source data-acquisition and control system for an ultra low cost eddy-current dynamometer utilizing an Arduino microcontroller.
In my spare time, I have built an Arduino-based and Xbox-hacked quadcopter, an open-source 3D printer, a solar energy charging stations, a chemical vapor chamber, and a backyard aluminum foundry; among many other projects. I’m a builder and would love to build your next project!
