Breakit is a startup developing an app first, location based social network, to help people to share information over the boarders of friends and followers.

The concept:

Current social networks bring you a lot of information, but still fail in showing you what is happening right
here, right now. Your closed circle of friends just cannot provide you with all this information. This is where
Breakit comes in. It is a mobile application that allows users to see what is happening near where they currently
are. You can also easily contribute yourself by simply snapping a photo, adding a headline, and breaking
the story when you come across something interesting.

Standard social networks are not the right audience for all pictures. Many things are more interesting for
the people around you than your friends halfway across the world. The feed you see on Breakit is not filled
with your friends’ pictures of their lunch spaghetti. Instead our awesome algorithm will select you the most
relevant photos around you based on their novelty, distance, and popularity. As Breakit allows your photos
to gain more visibility based on their popularity, you never know how big your story is going to get. We also
offer a channel for the content to get published in the mainstream media. Everything is 100% public, no
friends, no followers. In Breakit you can be totally anonymous and you don’t need to be concerned about
your personal brand.
