The Bike Instructor Certification Program's (BICP) mission is to advance the global standard for mountain bike instruction, driving an inclusive community that empowers our members through education, certification, service, and experience.
We offer professional training and certification for individuals who lead group rides or teach mountain bike skills clinics. The BICP is building on proven, successful methods nearly two decades in development, and aims to establish a global standard for mountain bike skills instructor training.
Our certification is internationally recognized to increase the safety and awareness around the sport of mountain biking, promoting safety first and fun second, thus lowering liability. For this reason, most parks, resorts, tour groups, and clubs require certification prior to leading groups or gaining employment in these fields.
With origins dating back to 1995, our training materials are built on years of coaching experience, skill development, and program building. We continually develop our certification program through the input of our coaches, staff, and participants, which facilitates an open learning environment and fostering community, and are striving to not only have interactive education and content available to current members and, but also implement a directory of certified instructors and guides.
More than 1000 BICP courses have been led Globally, certifying over 3000 individuals. The BICP is a non-profit 501 (c)(3).
