Autonect
Autonect connects vehicles to the web, streaming data to dealers and breakdown services in real time, enabling support and assistance for drivers.
Autonect works by polling data from the OBD2 port of any vehicle and transmitting it by Bluetooth to the driver's smartphone.
The smartphone app then communicates with an Autonect dashboard customised for each dealer, and will provide real-time alerts to the dealer for issues like:
Servicing due
Car faults
Component wear
Breakdowns
Accidents
This will enable the dealer to contact the driver via phone, SMS, email or through push-alerts in the app with offers of assistance. The app will also transmit location data.
For example, the driver could receive a message as soon as the brake warning light comes on, offering replacement pads at a special price for a fixed period. He can accept and book in via the app too. Similarly, when a dealer detects an airbag deployment or a breakdown fault, the driver can be contacted offering recovery assistance.
Autonect's aim is to connect every vehicle with its supplying dealer, to capture servicing and repair revenues more effectively, and to provide a smooth, simple service for the driver. It will also enable collection of a wide range of useful data to improve sales and servicing strategies, thereby increasing long-term dealer revenue.
