Alive Activities

Alive! are a charity working to provide care home residents across the South and South West of England with interactive activity sessions which can help stimulate them on all levels: physically, mentally and emotionally. Our vision A world where all care home residents live with dignity and respect, with access to choices, networks of friends and family, hobbies and interests, learning, and meaningful activity. Our mission We will: Use innovative techniques to deliver stimulating interactive workshops in residential homes and day centres in the South and South West of England. Provide training to raise awareness, motivate and equip care home staff and managers to meet residents' emotional and intellectual needs. Promote the use of the internet and touch screen technology to enable more care home residents to connect with friends and family and pursue their interests and hobbies. Our ultimate goal is to bring about cultural and legislative change so that meaningful activity is recognised as a fundamental right for older people in care and is routinely prioritised, planned, resourced and delivered. Our values We believe it is only by getting to know older people as individuals and understanding their life story that we can best care for them. We act as Dignity Champions for older people living in care. We always act with integrity and treat people as valuable individuals. From Guided Reminiscence sessions to Art Workshops to Dance Movement, our aim is to help older people regain their interest and engagement with their lives and help them feel Alive!
