Alaska Raptor Center

The Alaska Raptor Center (ARC) is a unique, multi-faceted non-profit organization located on 17 lush acres in the temperate rainforest of Southeast Alaska, nestled between mountains and the sea. We are an avian hospital and sanctuary as well as an educational facility and tourist attraction. Beginning modestly in 1980 as a backyard effort fueled by the tireless compassion of dedicated volunteers, we have grown into a first-class operation with year-round employees, a variety of Raptors-in-Residence, and an impressive campus in Sitka, Alaska. The Mission of ARC is to promote and enhance wild populations of raptors and other avian species through rehabilitation, education, and research. The Board, staff, and volunteers of ARC strive for excellence in service to patients, members, visitors, donors, schoolchildren, retail customers, and other beneficiaries of our work.
