The ACT Human Rights Commission promotes the human rights and welfare of all people living in the ACT. Respect and protection of human rights underpins all our work.
The Commission:
• handles complaints about health, disability and community services; and complaints under discrimination law
• increases awareness of the rights and responsibilities of service users and service providers; and encourages improvements in services
• advises government and others about their human rights obligations
• provides advocacy for children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability.
• advocates for and supports victims of crime.
