About 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne)

The Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), also referred to as the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), is responsible for the initial and advanced training for the Army's Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations and Special Forces branches. The Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) is one of 2 institutional groups within the US Army Special Operations Command, sharing instruction duties with the Special Warfare Medical Group (Airborne), with both units assigned to the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. The Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) is responsible for Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) and the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), as well as Civil Affairs and Psychological Operation Assessment and Selection and Qualification Courses. To accomplish this mission the Group is divided into 5 battalions. The 1st Battalion is responsible for all Special Forces field training. The 3rd Battalion is responsible for Civil Affairs assessment and training. The 4th Battalion is responsible for Special Forces military occupational specialty (MOS) training. The 5th Battalion is responsible for Psychological Operations assessment and training. The Group's Support Battalion sustains the training force through the forecast and management of 8 logistics commodities.
