Clarice Yan

Clarice Yan is currently serving as a Manager (Projects) at the National Parks Board (NParks), where she plays a pivotal role in advancing Singapore’s urban biodiversity conservation initiatives. Her responsibilities encompass coordinating and overseeing critical field surveys within key ecological corridors such as Eco-Link@BKE and adjacent nature reserves, which are vital for maintaining habitat connectivity and promoting wildlife movement in urban landscapes. Clarice’s expertise in systematic conservation planning is instrumental in ensuring that data collection and analysis inform sustainable land-use decisions aligned with Singapore’s biodiversity goals.

A core component of her role involves leading innovative research projects, including extensive camera trapping efforts—conducting over eight fieldwork sessions per month—to monitor and analyze wildlife activity, particularly avian and butterfly populations. She also spearheads bird and butterfly transect surveys and supports herpetofauna assessments, leveraging her skills in GIS, R, and MATLAB to interpret complex ecological data.
