Ocean Garden is a leading seafood importer, exporter, and distributor specializing in premium Mexican shrimp — both wild-caught and farm-raised. Founded in 1957 and headquartered in San Diego, we have built a global supply network serving foodservice distributors and restaurant chains across the U.S., Mexico, Asia, and Hawaii. Our signature white, blue, and brown shrimp, sold under the Ocean Garden, Mark, Compass, and Ocean Shell brands, among others, are recognized for consistent quality through stringent grading standards. We offer a broad range of raw and value-added formats, backed by full source-to-shelf traceability and rigorous certifications, including the Mexican Shrimp Council (MxSC), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), Cofepris, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), and Costco Food Safety & Code of Conduct Audits. As the founder of the Mexican Shrimp Council (MxSC), we have helped shape industry benchmarks in quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. In early 2025, the Ocean Garden brands became part of CenSea, from the powerhouse of brands under Captain Fresh — strengthening our shared commitment to responsibly sourced seafood and innovation in wild and farmed shrimp for global markets.
