Carter Yeates is currently serving as an Accountant I at BYU Dining Services, where he plays a vital role in managing and optimizing the financial operations of a complex and dynamic food service environment. In this capacity, Carter has been instrumental in piloting the implementation of a new accounting system, which has significantly streamlined financial processes across more than 45 dining locations on campus. His expertise in accounting and financial reporting ensures accurate and timely data, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

One of Carter’s key projects involved leading a comprehensive inventory audit of over 6,000 items, overseeing a team of 12 employees and coordinating with the accounting platform to ensure precise inventory valuation and cost control. His proficiency with sophisticated systems such as Tableau and Eatec allows him to analyze financial data effectively, generate insightful reports, and identify opportunities for process improvements. Additionally, Carter is responsible for creating and submitting monthly financial reports, which include detailed journal entries and location-specific markups—critical for maintaining transparency and accountability within the organization.
