Cara Romeike

Cara Romeike currently serves as the head women’s wrestling coach at Hastings College, a role she has passionately held since 2020. In this capacity, she has been instrumental in elevating the program’s competitive stature within the NAIA and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). Under her leadership, the team achieved remarkable milestones, including finishing as KCAC conference runners-up in 2022 during only their second season, and then securing the KCAC conference championship in 2023 as a rapidly growing program. Cara’s strategic focus on recruiting top talent, combined with her expertise in marketing and outreach, has been pivotal in attracting student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Her emphasis on fostering a culture of character and integrity was recognized when the team received the Champions of Character award in 2022, underscoring her commitment to holistic athlete development.

Beyond coaching, Cara leverages her skills in fundraising and account management to support program growth and sustainability. She actively engages with community partners and alumni to build a strong support network, ensuring the team has the resources needed to succeed. Her background in teaching and travel planning enhances her ability to develop comprehensive training schedules and coordinate national competitions, such as Fargo Nationals, where she first gained recognition as a Team Texas coach. With a keen eye for analytical skills and advertising, Cara continuously seeks innovative ways to promote women’s wrestling and expand its visibility. Her leadership at Hastings College exemplifies her dedication to empowering female athletes, advancing the sport, and cultivating a competitive yet character-driven wrestling program.
