Binta Mariko

Binta Mariko currently enriches her professional expertise as a stage universitaire en génie des eaux at Ville de Québec, where she actively contributes to the planning and validation of hydraulic network assessments. Her role involves conducting critical flow and pressure tests within the municipal water distribution system to ensure optimal capacity for fire protection and overall network resilience. By planning and executing Hazen-Williams tests, she determines the coefficient de rugosité, which is essential for accurate hydraulic modeling and system optimization. Binta meticulously documents her findings within comprehensive databases and hydraulic models, leveraging her skills in gestion des données, gestion de projet, and the use of advanced GIS tools such as ArcGIS. Her work supports the city's efforts to maintain a reliable and efficient water infrastructure, integrating scientific principles of water hydraulics and environmental science.

In addition to her technical responsibilities, Binta actively participates in community engagement initiatives, drawing from her experience with the ONG AMASEN and La Croix Rouge Malienne. Her involvement in activities related to assainissement, salubrité, and sensibilisation communautaire on Wash (eau, hygiène, assainissement) demonstrates her commitment to environmental sustainability and public health. Her proficiency in gestion du travail, collecte de données, and communication tools like Microsoft PowerPoint and Word enhances her ability to present complex technical data clearly and effectively. Overall, Binta’s multidisciplinary background and hands-on experience position her as a valuable contributor to urban water management projects, combining technical expertise with community-oriented approaches to sustainable development.
