Ben Ren currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Scam AI, a pioneering company dedicated to safeguarding trust in the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI. In this leadership role, Ben leverages his extensive expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and AI safety to develop robust, scalable systems that combat social engineering threats and prevent AI-driven scams. His strategic vision focuses on integrating advanced neural network architectures, such as deep neural networks and computer vision techniques, to identify and mitigate malicious AI behaviors in real-time. Under his guidance, Scam AI has launched innovative solutions that utilize cutting-edge data science and applied machine learning methodologies to enhance user trust and security across digital platforms.

Prior to Scam AI, Ben was a Senior Research Scientist at Meta AI, where he specialized in personalization and recommendation systems. His work in this domain involved designing sophisticated algorithms that improve user experience while ensuring privacy and security—an expertise that seamlessly translates into his current focus on AI safety and trustworthiness. With a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Duke University and over 700 citations across more than 30 publications, Ben’s research has significantly contributed to the fields of neural networks, artificial intelligence, and recommendation systems. His technical skill set encompasses a broad spectrum of tools and frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, C++, and advanced data science techniques.
