Structures Engineer at Liquid Rocketry Lab | Raleigh, North Carolina, United States

About Arjun Thakore

Arjun Thakore is currently making significant strides as a Structures Engineer at Liquid Rocketry Lab, where he leverages his engineering acumen to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace projects. As a second-year engineering student at North Carolina State University, Arjun's passion for mechanical systems and space exploration is evident in his hands-on experience with high-stakes design challenges. One of his key projects involved the design of an engine interface capable of withstanding an impressive 20,000 lb of thrust, ensuring that safety margins were meticulously calculated and integrated into the design process. This project not only required a deep understanding of structural integrity but also demanded a thorough cost analysis to evaluate various design alternatives.

Arjun's role extends beyond design; he actively engages in research and supplier communication to gather critical information on material tolerances and specifications. This aspect of his work is essential for making informed decisions about the materials used in rocket components, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. His proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as AutoCAD and NX allows him to create precise engineering drawings that facilitate collaboration and streamline project workflows. Additionally, his familiarity with project management tools like Confluence and Jira enhances his ability to manage timelines effectively and contribute to team objectives.

With a strong foundation in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and regulatory compliance, Arjun is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of aerospace engineering. His skills in failure analysis and time management further bolster his contributions, making him a valuable asset to the Liquid Rocketry Lab team as they push the boundaries of space exploration and innovation.
