Director of Loss Prevention at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa | Tucson, Arizona, United States

About Al Azat

As the Director of Loss Prevention at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, I leverage my extensive background in operational management and risk mitigation to enhance the safety and security of our expansive property, which includes a luxurious resort, a premier golf course, and an exclusive country club. My journey began with an MBA from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management, where I developed a strong foundation in commercial operations and strategic communication. This educational background, combined with over five years as Director of Operations at Laudes Security, has equipped me with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of daily operations and operational control in a high-stakes environment.

In my current role, I lead a dedicated team of security professionals, focusing on proactive risk management strategies that not only safeguard our guests and staff but also enhance the overall guest experience. I implement comprehensive training programs that emphasize situational awareness and effective communication, ensuring that my team is well-prepared to respond to any potential security threats. Additionally, I work closely with various departments to foster a culture of safety and vigilance throughout the resort.

Key projects I have spearheaded include the development of a state-of-the-art surveillance system and the establishment of emergency response protocols that align with industry best practices. My multilingual capabilities also allow me to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele, further enriching the guest experience. Through my commitment to operational excellence and a focus on risk management, I strive to create a secure and welcoming environment that embodies the spirit of The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.
