💼 Past Experience

Since July, 2017, Youssef Saker has been working as the Responsable du Cycle Mastères[1] according to the job listing. Previously, he spent two years as the Manager of Lighting at the French Department of Land and Transport. As Lighting Manager at the French Department of Land and Transport, he supervised the lighting retrofits of twelve governmental buildings in Paris. Additionally, he was responsible for the design, installation and management of 15 LED lights in an addressway and pedestrian tunnel. In his role as Lighting Manager, Youssef Saker also organized the lighting programs of a number of events and manifestations such as the Paris Running of the Bulls, the Flemish Dance Festival and the International Exposition of the art of Accordion and Lute at the Louvre Museum.Prior to his current position, Youssef Saker worked as a Research Scholar at the French Department of Land and Transport. As Research Scholar at the French Department of Land and Transport, Youssef Saker wrote a book on the Theory and Practice of Lighting within the Context of Land Use Decision Making, which was published in 2016. Youssef Saker also worked as a Research Assistant at the Research School of Constructions and Transport at the University of Surrey. He was responsible for conducting research in the field of transportation engineering and roadway engineering. Additionally, he was a Research Assistant at the Institute of Transportation Management at the University of Civil Engineering in Silvio Berlusconi’s University of Milan. Youssef Saker's educational background and work readiness have been carefullyIraqiized based on his past education and work experience.Saker has a Master of Science degree in Relations Internationales from the Centre d'Etudes Diplomatiques and Stratégiques in January 1998. He then proceeded to hold a Master of Science degree in History and Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in January 1996. Finally, he obtained a Master of Architecture from the Ecole d'Architecture in January 1997.Saker's professional experience to date:Saker has worked as an architectural draftsman and design assistant since 1997. He has sketched, designed, and built individual houses and businesses in Iraqi and Lebanese families. In his work experience, he has come to know and appreciate theimportance of good design, communication, and collaboration in building strong and lasting partnerships.Saker is currently a project manager with a Lebanese architectural firm. He has gathered his past experience and insight into this domain to come up with a design plan for a new cultural center inlanders Lebanese refugees. He is working intimately with the clients to make this project a reality.Sakerstrongly believes in the importance of collaboration in his work and believes that through working with others, he can achieve the best results. He has worked extensively with Iraqi Architects and Engineers to plan and implement projects in Baghdad and Lebanon. He has a deep understanding of Iraqi culture and its architectural traditions and has been able to develop close working relationships with these Architects and Engineers.

Before being appointed to this position, Youssef Saker has been responsible for the technical support of an education company’s mortgage division. He has also worked as a systems administrator and development engineer for a software company. Saker has a degree in business administration from the University of Technology in Paris.
