1.What is your Background and Education?Vonetta Hawkins has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. She also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Vonetta has also received a Javits Foundation Fellowship and one from the Cummings Foundation.2. How did you first become interested in working in the financial services industry?Vonetta Priorites her career journey around diversity and equity. Her early experiences took place in the the field of business investment. Vonetta worked in the investment industry for a number of years, where she repeatedly overcame difficulties in her work environment. She eventually left her position in the financial industry to become a diversity and equity leader at her company. From there, she moved on to work as a corporate strategist for a financial services industry company. Vonetta also worked for a number of years as a minority mentor for a young business. She has since returned to the financial services industry and currently manages a diversity and equity program at her company. Vonetta is also a member of the National Black MBA Association, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), and the Society Hill III Condominuim Association.

In her previous positions, Vonetta Hawkins has effectively led and impacted diverse Organizations in the financial services industry, both domestically and internationally. As Corporate Strategist at Industry of Financial Services, Vonetta Hawkins led their Massage Parlors & Day Spas branch operations in Montgomery County, Maryland and successfully implemented a successful diversity and equity inclusion policy. She was also advanced with the position of Director of Business Investments atMetro New York Chapter National Black MBA Association. As Vice President at NAHREP- National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, she led the effort to register over 2,000 new Latino real estate agents and increase subscription totals from $860,000 to $1,190,000. Vonetta Hawkins also served as a Senior Vice President at Society Hill III Condominuim Association, where she continues to lead the charge for diversity and inclusion in the organization.
