Syd Schwartz has more than 14 years of experience in the music industry, having held several positions in the marketing, strategy, and business development divisions of various record labels. Schwartz currently resides in New York City, where he is the founder and CEO of Linchpin Digital, a digital marketing firm which specializes in developing initiatives and exploiting commercial opportunities for artists. Schwartz was also a Marketing Manager at Alliance Entertainment, a record label based in Bethel, Connecticut, from June 1989 to July 1992. From there, Schwartz transferred to the Adjunct Professor position at New York University, where he taught a senior-level course called "Entrepreneurship in the Music Business." Schwartz also spent four years on the marketing team at EMI Music, where he manage global digital marketing efforts for the aforementioned 150 album releases and 150 single releases. Additionally, Schwartz helped develop targeted promotional campaigns with a select number of major music, media and commerce destinations. He also handled a number of creative marketing alliances and projects with various entertainment portals, retail outlets, and other outlets. In addition, Schwartz was also responsible for the construction of the Wind-up Intranet, which aggregates marketing, sales, online and radio statistics, allowing ad-hoc customizable reporting and improved staff communication efficiencies. Schwartz supervises and manages a staff of 20 employees in New York City.
