Sven Henniger's education has been focused on business and economics. He has a Dipl.-Kfm.economy from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and he worked in the private banking sector before coming to Bankhaus Löbbecke & Co, Hamburg in 1992. After a spell as a Bankkaufmann at Bankhaus Löbbecke & Co, he joined the Bundesbank in 1995 and worked there until he left in 2002. In his time at the Bundesbank, Sven Henniger was responsible for the economics division, which is responsible for the economic and financial services division. This division is responsible for the management and supervision of the Bundesbank’s banking sector businesses. Sven Henniger left the Bundesbank in 2002.
