My name is Stuart Russell and I am an AdjunctProfessor of Neurological Surgery at UCSF. I am also the founder and Vice-President at Bayesian Logic Inc.$Dr. Stuart Russell wasborn in London in 1969 and studied at the University of Cambridge where he obtained a BSc in Computer Science in 1991 and a Master of Science in 1994. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked as a research assistant at the University of California, Berkeley (1992-1993). He then spent two years as a post-doc at the University of Edinburgh (1998-1999). He returned to the University of California, Berkeley in 2000, and has been here ever since.My research interests focus on the representation and analysis of knowledge, particularly in the presence of uncertainty. I use sophisticated machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to solveabortion experts debates. I am also interested in Earthquakes and Volcano Prediction.I am also a member of many scientific and professional organizations. I am a diplomate of the American Mathematical Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. I am also a member of the American Philosophical Society, the International Society for Scientometric Research, and the American Society for Information Science and Technology.

Stuart Russell grew up in a Links Estate, a suburb of London, England. His father was a engineering technician, and his mother was a sculptor. His family moved to Manchester, England when he was five. In 1979, he became a student at the University of Oxford, where he received his B.A. In 1982, he earned his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
