SivaVenkataraman currently holds a Master's degree in Physics from Madurai Kamaraj University and completed his undergraduate studies in 1994-1996 at TVS Lakshmi, a private university in Chennai, India. Siva Venkataraman then earned hisMS in Physics from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1999. Siva Venkataraman then completed his MBA in Quantitative Marketing and Technology Management and Strategy from University of California, Los Angeles in 2004. He then completed his graduate degree in Data Mining & Applications from Stanford University in 2011-2012.Siva Venkataraman has held various management positions in various companies since 1994-1996. From 1994-1996, he was a full-time student at TVS Lakshmi, a private university in Chennai, India, where he studied engineering and gained his MS in Physics. In 1998-1999, Siva Venkataraman transferred to Madurai Kamaraj University, where he further studied engineering with a view to becoming a nuclear physicist. However, he decided to switch to medicine instead and obtained his MS, Physiology from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1996. Subsequently, Siva Venkataraman joined the faculty of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2005 as a Dean’s Research Fellow and held that position until 2008. In that position, Siva Venkataraman directed the Anderson School of Management, a graduate-level program which provides undergraduate students with management experience in business.Upon his return to UCLA in 2008, Siva Venkataraman was appointed as the Provost of the School of Business. He has since vacated that position and is now a full-time professor in the School of Business. Siva Venkataraman's research areas include data mining and applications, marketing, and strategy. In his research, he has focused on the application of big data tomake better decisions and improve marketing effectiveness.
