Siro has over fifteen years of scientific and international management experience across the whole research, development, commercialization, and investment process in new technologies.
Siro is Co-Founder and CEO of Molecular Warehouse an mHealth molecular diagnostics platform. Our vision is to create a world where most diseases are prevented, by giving people the power of molecular diagnostics.
Siro also actively advises and co-founds start-ups through Roundcape, a boutique advisory firm, and is a Venture Partner at Hadean Ventures, a life sciences venture capital fund.
Previously, he served as CEO of ToxiMet, leading the company from a development stage start-up to a fully commercial enterprise with sales in 5 continents, and raising £5m at increasing valuations in the process.
Before joining ToxiMet, he worked investing in pharmaceutical and biotech stocks for one of the world’s leading hedge funds ($14B under management), and as Investment Manager for a global life sciences venture capital fund ($1.5B under management).
Prior to his investment career, he worked as Project Leader in the Zurich office of The Boston Consulting Group, managing strategy projects for global Pharma, Biotech, and Financial Services companies. Prior to that, he led a group in drug development and conducted research in neurodegenerative diseases at Novartis, and started his scientific career at the Cajal Institute of Neurobiology, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Siro holds a Masters in Finance from the London Business School, and a PhD summa cum laude in Molecular Biology and a MSc in Chemistry with honours from the Autonoma University of Madrid. He also studied Computer Science Engineering at UNED, and speaks English, German, and Spanish fluently.

Led the company from finalising product development, through the global launch in Singapore, and commercial expansion to five continents, achieving contract values of ~$850,000.
Key achievements:
- Raised ~£5m at increasing valuations from a range of investors, from business angels to family offices. Responsible for developing the investment presentations, pitching at multiple events, and supporting the due diligence processes to successful closing of the financings.
- Restructured R&D operations and led the company to the successful global launch in time and in budget of our first product, a system for measurement of mycotoxins in food. Personally secured initial sales at the launch, allowing the company to fundraise for commercial expansion.
- In charge of all marketing and sales strategy and materials, as well as setting up support systems (e.g. CRM). Marketing efforts led to the company being showcased in leading magazines, and receiving a key innovation award from our main customer group association.
- Set up accounting processes and cost controls, and reduced average cash burn in the company by 50%, moving the company at the same time from a purely R&D organisation to a fully commercial enterprise. Led the recruitment of the commercial team.
- Oversaw the constant quality improvement of the product, driving down manufacturing rejections and ensuring accurate and precise performance of the system. Drove manufacturing costs in consumables down by 70%, allowing the company to be much more competitive and grow revenues while improving profitability.
- Established contact and secured partnerships with global companies to leverage their commercial resources and accelerate market penetration of our main product.
