Natick, MassachusettsSoftware Engineer @ Xerox Corporation Develop GUI and system management software for Xerox products. Job qualifications require special knowledge of the architecture and infrastructure of proprietary Xerox software, as well as intimate knowledge of the internal software development processes. Job duties entail participation in the feature team process to finalize requirements, create low-level designs, implement the software, integrate it with other subsystems and support it during the test periods. This project was designed using C, C++, OpenGL, and digital video YUV format. OpenGL was specifically used for simulation purposes. Software was written to read the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags as well as other MP3 data (CBR and VBR) for the Apricot project. Other duties included working on updating/modifying software that detects the level of Glaucoma in patients using Java (JDK 1.4). I specifically wrote the printing classes involved with displaying visuals of data onto the screen as well as preparing formatted documents for printing to a printer. Other updates included adding settings classes and CD burning capabilities.Environment: C, C++, Java, OpenGL, and Windows From November 2001 to March 2002 (5 months) Liverpool, NYSoftware Engineer (Co-op) @ High Steel Structures Designed an application for detailing structural steel for highway bridges using Visual Basic/C++. Specifically developed a program that retrieves known data from an access database and user input to design the bridge girders, stiffeners, and diaphragms for various projects. Designed an electronic shapes manual that accesses a database to display all necessary information for various structural shapes.Environment: Visual Basic, C++, and Windows From June 2001 to August 2001 (3 months) Lancaster, PASoftware Engineer (Co-op) @ Innovative Solutions & Support Designed and tested the weather radar for an LCD flat panel project using Visual C++ and Open GL. The weather data is acquired from a Condor 708 card that receives simulated weather patterns from a Ballard 708 card and utility software. The weather radar was tested with simulated weather patterns and applying worse case scenarios to determine software response time and efficiency. Modifications were later made to optimize the software frame rate for better performance time. This included figuring out how to use overlay and main plane display buffers in OpenGL using the Oxygen GVX1 video card. The result is a flat panel display with static objects on one layer and dynamic objects on another layer allowing for a much faster frame rate than if all objects were drawn on a single layer.Other duties included setting up Windows NT embedded on a Pentium III single board computer using a flash memory card and an Oxygen GVX1 video card, testing and fixing problems involved with hardware conflicts between the ARINC 429 cards and the 708 cards on a Condor carrier board (CEI-600), and thorough documentation of software written for ADDUÔÇÖs (Air Data Display Units).Environment: C++, OpenGL, Embedded Windows NT, Windows, Source Safe From November 2000 to March 2001 (5 months) Malvern, PASoftware Engineer (Co-op) @ Innovative Solutions & Support Updated and tested software used to program airplane modules. Software was written to program Motorola processors including MC68HC11P2, MC68HC11K4, and MC68HC11F1 processors used for altimeters, air speed indicators, air data display units, and fuel quantity indicators. Windows software was designed to communicate with HC11 and HC12 processors for the purpose of monitoring data according to memory address location. Also designed Windows software used for equipment calibration of Air Data Display Units (ADDU) that included calibrating static pressure, impact pressure, barometric pressure, static air temperature, lighting, and altitude displays.
