From March 2015 to Present (8 months) StanfordEngineering Intern @ Backend Engineering Intern at HealthTap From June 2015 to August 2015 (3 months) Palo AltoWebmaster @ Created and currently maintaining a website for Stanford Music and Medicine, which seeks to bring awareness of the medical benefits of music to the Stanford and Bay Area community. Website: https://smam.herokuapp.com/ From December 2014 to June 2015 (7 months) Stanford, CAComputer Science Research Assistant @ Collaborating on project to extract GWAS signals to identify causal variants. Developing clustering algorithms to identify families and subfamilies of transposable elements across several genomes. From January 2015 to March 2015 (3 months) Stanford, CAELI Mentor @ I helped tutor grammar, reading skills, and test-taking strategies to middle and high school students learning English as a second language. From July 2014 to August 2014 (2 months) English Language Institute at The Harker SchoolSummer Research Intern @ Working at the Tsao lab, I investigated the role of micro-RNA 223 in inflammatory macrophage differentiation during Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms. Through cell culture techniques, cytokine and apoptosis assays, and qRT-PCR, I explored miR-223's effect on the sensitivity of macrophages to certain environmental stimuli. For my final research paper, I was recognized as a 2014 Intel Science Talent Search Semifinalist. From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Falk Cardiovascular Center at Stanford School of MedicineSummer Research Intern @ With a partner, I investigated the link between specific mutations in Helicobacter pylori and the severity of the corresponding inflammation. Through PCR and data analysis, we identified possible mutations in the gene HP0289 which may contribute to increased inflammatory capability. My lab partner and I submitted to the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology and were selected as regional semifinalists. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Microbiology Lab in UC Santa Cruz
