💼 Past Experience

Robert K Ashby has over 25 years of experience in the fields of private equity, hedge funds, fine arts, film, alternative investments and music. He has acted as a private equity advisor, music composer, music director, financial services research, and operative in multiple luxury hotel chains such as Ritz-Carlton and InterContinental. He has attended many classical music and art festivals and has, as a pianist, premiered a number of famous classical and modern ballet movements. He has also taught at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY, and is a Principal at Robert Joffrey Ballet School where he taught classical ballet and music.

Robert K Ashby entered the Classical piano competition at Manhattan School of Music in Fall of 1965, where he placed fifth in his FIRST MEDAL CLASS. He then attended the Conservatory of Music at Manhattan School of Music where he was a Second Prize winner in his Violin Class in 1966, and where he completed his Classical Comparative Music School Seminar with Yolande Meitner in 1967. From 1967 to 1969, he held music teacher training positions at Skidmore College, where he was a Second Prize winner in his Piano I and II classes, and a First Prize winner in his Chamber Music Performance and Orchestration classes. From 1969 to 1971, he was a music professor at Elisabeth Irwin High School in New York City, teaching Piano I, II, III, and IV classes.Robert K Ashby has played and performed solo classical, chamber, orchestral, and commercial music for almost fifty years. His works have been recorded and published including recordings of his own works and others by the noted Columbia (CBS) Records and RCA Victor companies. Ashby has toured with many orchestras and symphonies and has made numerous appearances as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. In addition, Ashby has been a Visiting Artist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and numerous other orchestras.Robert K Ashby currently resides in New York City and teaches Classical Piano in the undergraduate level and is a Master Teacher/Virtuoso Pianist with David Saperton.
