I joined Arco straight from university in 1995, initially as a sales administrator, moving to field sales in 1996, and then into supply chain in 1997. During 1999 I led the search for a new ERP system to support Arco’s growth ambitions, which resulted in us selecting SAP as our strategic IT partner. For the next 5 years I was responsible for the teams which developed and implemented our SAP solution, including Human Resources, Finance, Sales and Distribution and Materials Management.
After a gruelling few years, in 2004 I decided a career break was the only way to keep fresh, and left Arco to train as a commercial airline pilot. During my training I continued to keep my hand in with SAP and business skills by consulting on Supply Chain and WMS projects, before taking up my first full time role as an airline pilot in 2007.
In 2013, having enjoyed 7 years of flying, I decided it was time to get a proper job again! An opportunity came up at Arco to lead their transformational change projects, including Customer Relationship Management, eBusiness replatforming on Hybris, Business Intelligence, Supply Chain Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Success Factors and many other business projects, so I was delighted to re-join the company in January 2014. In the first 6 months we have solidified our ‘SAP first’ IT strategy, negotiated for the licences and partner support required, and have kicked off many of these projects. The first project we have delivered is a CRM RDS project, working with SAP and Edenhouse, which went live in June, and so far has been a resounding success.
On July 1st I took over as IT and Change Director at Arco, and am looking forward to delivering many more success stories over the next few years, to support Arco’s ambitious plans to be a £500m business by 2025.
