I have always considered myself a scientist, IT is just a natural extension of that. As with any scientific pursuit , not only do you constantly get to ask why; but more importantly, why not? Solving problems is one of the greatest things we have as a species. Without making mistakes and the ability of finding solutions, I would have learned very little. This ranges from the smallest projects to the largest ones. At the end of a project when everything is running as expected or better and everyone is happy with your solutions; it is really a hard feeling to beat. More so when you realize that anything you have done in the past will just lay a better foundation for you to to build on in the future.
The jobs I have been part of have ranged in size from small companies of 5 people to companies of over 200. The skills set involved sometimes were very simple and included basic upkeep of software , to major system and network overhauls. I have planned and built companies from scratch, from the network to the server to the client machines, all tailored to the company. The businesses I have worked with have run the gamut, financial, architectural, education, medical, aviation, film and web.
For the last 3 years I have worked at BlueFountainMedia. BFM is a digital agency involved in online presence, building websites and apps and then providing marketing for them.
