Chief Digital Officer @ Newly created role to drive a cohesive AIG-wide digital strategy, with programs that deepen client engagement, introduce new business models, digitize operational processes, enable greater employee collaboration, and reimagine the way we work at AIG. The Digital team will be responsible for internal- and external-facing web, mobile, and social assets, including a focus on harmonizing our efforts across contact centers, social media, the Internet, and the Intranet. From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Global Head, Application Development and Management @ Reporting to the head of Operations and Systems, responsible for the corporate center IT and the transformation of the firm wide Application Development and Management (ADM) function. The role encompasses responsibility for AIG's global delivery strategy, enterprise architecture, application portfolio optimization and sustainable improvements in various facets of the software delivery life cycle. Additionally, in January, was given responsibility for a 1000-resource IT captive (AIG Shared Services IT) in Manila which is now being strategically repositioned as a high value added entity. Currently launching an enterprise wide testing shared services utility, a co-sourced model between the Manila captive and India based global delivery partners, and Application Managed Services. Also lead AIG's Fed Reserve risk and compliance program for ADM across the firm. In August 2013, added responsibility for various shared service utilities supporting Property Casualty, AIG's largest business unit such as Enterprise Content Management, Identity Management, Release Management, Middleware/ESB etc. with the objective of making these truly enterprise wide shared functions. Launched a large upgrade of the digital marketing platform for the company. From September 2012 to Present (3 years 4 months) Head of Global Sourcing; Head of vendor management, Retail Bank @ Led Enterprise wide Technology and Operations Sourcing as well as all International Sourcing for BAC before being asked to take over the entire supply chain management organization for BAC and lead the transformation program to a distributed operating model. The responsibilities included -
- Building out the international organization to effectively cover 30+ countries.
- Establishing Spend management and Category Management strategies for vendor rationalization, vendor risk management, spend optimization and driving overarching business benefits from the sourcing function across a variety of categories - software, hardware, telecom, ATM, Trading, Payments, Item Processing etc.
- Concurrently, was the group leader responsible for driving efficiency ideation and business case development for consumer technology and company-wide Procurement as part of the CEO’s New BAC efficiency program. My 2 groups produced hard savings targets of 20+% to be attained over 3 years From June 2011 to August 2012 (1 year 3 months) Charlotte, North Carolina AreaManaging Director, Head of Consumer Channels Technology @ Leading the technology group that creates the integrated channel strategy and enables all consumer channels at Bank of America including 18,000 ATMs, award winning Bankofamerica.com, the Bank's ecommerce presence, industry first mobile banking, 6000+ banking centers and call centers with nearly 15,000 agents. The role presents unique challenges of serving one of every two American household with an array of financial services through 5 complementary channels in a 7x24 high resiliency environment and the opportunity to bring innovative technology to life for our customers and associates. Launched focused initiatives to ensure operational stability and reduce failed customer interactions in each channel, and to leverage cross channel best practices to drive performance improvements. Co-sponsored with business head of channels, an integrated channels capability effort to drive intentional customer experiences in each channel. Our combined business-technology team has posted many successes such as rapid adoption of the largest deposit image ATM network in the U.S.; launch of mobile apps for Palm, iPhone and RIM platforms and continuing growth in online adoption. I have also been partnered in channel related business innovation around social spaces, identity management and payments. From 2003 to March 2010 (7 years) Chief Information Officer, Wealth Management @ As CIO, I lead Technology and Operations for one of Bank of America's 3 revenue divisions named Global Wealth Investment Management. I am a member of the Bank's Management Operating Committee which comprises the top 100 leaders at the company. From July 2006 to December 2008 (2 years 6 months) Managing Director, Global Delivery @ I built from scratch the Bank's global offshore delivery program for both IT and BPO. This included forming and managing 3 large outsourcing relationships on the Technology side which I grew rapidly. It also involved starting a greenfield wholly owned subsidiary of BAC in India known as BA Continuum Solutions which was responsible for Business Process work. From October 2001 to July 2006 (4 years 10 months) Manager/Director IT @ Starting as a team lead managing Foreign Exchange back office applications support in 1993, I grew in successive management positions to manage Corporate Treasury Trading Technology, Fixed Income Securities Back office technology and finally all technology for sales and trading for Fixed Income at the investment bank From August 1993 to September 2001 (8 years 2 months) software programmer @ Hired off campus as a software programmer trainee and quickly graduated through COBOL, Unisys DMS II database, COMS, LINC II 4GL and various structured systems analysis and design methodology training programs.
