• My team designs and builds products for users in international markets.
• It's our mission to develop a better understanding of needs and behaviors of users and non-users around the globe, through user research and data science - and make Twitter awesome for them!
• We partner with cross-functional teams in the local offices (Marketing, Biz Dev, Media, etc) to coordinate the go-to-market strategy for these products, making Twitter feel vibrantly local.
• We also founded the Emerging Markets group, team that traveled to India, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, etc, to meet users, non-users and partners.
• Worked on the following products: Sports on Twitter (FIFA World Cup worldwide, Soccer in LatAm, Cricket in India), News Tab, Feature Phones clients, market-specific experiments, SMS Fast Follow, Carrier Partnerships. From August 2013 to Present (2 years 3 months) San Francisco Bay AreaVenture Advisor @ Monashees is the leading venture capital firm in Brazil.
I advise portfolio companies as they start to build their PM teams, so they can create an agile and a data-driven product organization. From October 2014 to Present (1 year 1 month) Product Manager, Growth and Mobile @ Peixe helped more than 25M brazilians explore their cities with online-to-offline services such as Daily Deals, City Guide, Restaurant Reservations, Food Delivery.
In 2012 we won The Crunchies of Best International Startup.
Leading Growth, I identified and coordinated optimitizations across mobile apps, web, mobile web, email, shipping the following:
• Acquisition: custom landing pages; signup form optim.; traffic attribution audit; remarketing tools;
• Virality: member-get-member flow; viral coefficient optimization; standalone Facebook apps.
• Email: new user activation emails; resurrection campaigns; A/B tests in general;
In 2013, I was also Mobile PM, contributing to significant increase in revenue share from our apps.
• Shipped complete redesign of Deals feature; launched new City Guide product for Android/iOS
• Created first push notifications system, including deals retargeting system and campaigns support.
• Our apps were featured in Google Play and App Store homepages multiple times.
In parallel, improved PM process, helping our team become more agile and data-driven.
• Coached our engineering teams through Scrum or Kanban adoption

Speaking the students' language, with delightful user experience and effective product virality, CarrascoMamata gained 10,000 organic signups in the first 24hrs, and quickly reached hundreds of thousands users all over Brazil. Today, CM is a top-of-mind service for college students, with over 1,000,000 ratings.
At CarrascoMamata, I led product, analytics, growth and front-end development. From July 2011 to April 2013 (1 year 10 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilCo-founder and Developer @ Mobile app with real-time user-generated reviews about bars and restaurants, helping people discover "what places are trending right now?". Something like Yelp+Twitter...
While the product was innovative and solved an important problem for a few thousands of users, we did not generate network effects to scale the community and increase graph/geo density. Understanding this, however, was fundamental for the experiences I had later in my career.
At Zurbb, I was responsible for user experience, analytics and web development. From April 2011 to January 2012 (10 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilSoftware Engineering, Analytics, Product @ Órama brings the most exclusive financial products in Brazil to mass markets, by providing an easy-to-use platform to manage a portfolio and by allowing customers to start investing with only ~$300.
I joined in pre-launch stage and saw the company evolve from mockups to a product loved by users. Órama now holds hundreds of million dollars in its investment funds.
As the first engineering employee (and one of the first employees), I wore multiple hats:
• Software Engineer in core projects (Python/Django); trained interns, oversaw outsourced team.
• Analytics: defined and monitored KPIs; built dashboards, pioneered data science work;
• Product: organized backlog/roadmap; planned new features from concept to launch.
• Growth: coordinated launch strategy and referral programs; implemented SEO optimizations; redesigned homepage for higher conversion.

• Developed heuristic-based systems for real-time and daily trading using C#. Optimized parameters via genetic algorithms on historical data backtesting.
• Performed quantitative analysis (correlation, clustering, regression, etc) using R and Python.
• Collaborated with the company's Venture Capital fund, working directly with the board of investors: analyzed tons of pitch decks, met entrepreneurs, mapped competitive landscape, researched and presented trends from other markets, etc.
• I left to study in the U.S. and, when I came back, decided to join one of the portfolio companies at pre-launch stage (Órama). From September 2008 to August 2010 (2 years) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilResearch Assistant - Big Data Workflows @ Explored workflow management systems for large scale experiments and scientific visualization. Also developed custom modules for these softwares (mostly in Python).
Published a couple of articles in national and international events in the field. One of them led to an internship at University of Utah in 2009, where I implemented on their software (Vistrails) the modules proposed in our research papers.
