At Tahsys, we developed precise laser and terahertz applications for fiber-optic telecommunications, security, and biomedicine. As CTO, I was directly involved in all aspects of product development. Prior to that, I was a first hire and Chief Network Designer for LightSpeed Audio Labs. We developed the JamNow music-collaboration online portal, a website that allowed users around the continent to sing and play musical instruments together in real-time over ordinary internet connections. I was responsible for final integration and testing of Gedex’s first prototype airborne survey systems, and for analyzing and processing all data recorded from both ground experiments and test-flights. My duties included: ● Designed and built hardware and software for highly-precise in situ calibration procedure (99.999% accuracy) for Gedex's gravity-sensor system ● Created analytical and simulation models of Gedex high-definition airborne gravity-gradiometer in Matlab and C++. The model accurately captured the mechanical, electrical, and superconducting behaviour of the instrument and predicted its performance when subject to airplane survey conditions. ● Created and coded a complete data-processing stream for removing noise and transforming the raw flight-survey data to a commercial-quality product ● Performed detailed forensic data-analysis studies to pinpoint sources and locations of problems in prototypes systems. Results of studies were used to drive final design iterations of commercial-version products. I worked in the Optical Systems and Technology Lab under the supervision of Prof. Ted Darcie. During my tenure, I co-supervised 4 graduate students, and authored 17 scientific journal and conference papers in the fields of image processing, commercial broadband Internet access networks, optical networks, and real-time Internet applications.
