About Nathan Harkleroad

Nathan Harkleroad serves as the Program Director at the Agriculture and Land Based Training Association (ALBA), where he leverages over 15 years of non-profit management experience and a robust academic background, including an M.S. in Crop Science. With more than two decades dedicated to organic agriculture, Nathan is a pivotal figure in empowering farmworkers to transition into independent organic farming. His extensive expertise in small- and commercial-scale organic production techniques, crop planning, and food safety regulations positions him as a leader in sustainable agriculture.

At ALBA, Nathan is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive 300-hour farmer training program that equips aspiring farmers with essential skills in organic production, marketing strategies tailored for small farmers, and effective harvest and post-harvest care practices. Under his guidance, the organization has successfully launched farm incubation services, providing critical support to new farmers as they establish their operations.
