I'm currently focused on the public sector, managing projects that span both Floating Vehicle Data and Cellular technologies. I still work on various legacy systems from my Technical Consultant days such as ESS and MILE migration. SE specific work includes supporting the sales team with on-boarding of new and potential customers. Worked with Mouchel and Thales as part of the NTIS rollout for the HA ( Highways Agency ), and Connect Plus with the Cellular Analytics Service. From November 2012 to March 2015 (2 years 5 months) Technical Consultant @ Disaster Simulation as part of the ESS project, using TSS Aimsun to simulate an entire road network for evacuations, tunnel accidents, and forest fires, allowing real time emulation of congestion, and allowing commanders on the ground to block roads and divert traffic. Part of a rapid-deployment team responsible for MILE project deliverables, along with the continual support of the MILE system to BMW, providing real-time analysis of availability, load, and fail-over scenarios. From January 2009 to October 2012 (3 years 10 months) Manchester, United KingdomClient Operations Manager @ Manager of IT team and Quality Team, totalling roughly 9 people. Responsible for the roll out, configuration and 24/7 support of the ITIS 'TrafficScience' system, running oncall, and looking after the 2 teams. From September 2007 to January 2009 (1 year 5 months) Infrastructure Deployment Manager @ Responsible for the deployment and configuration of GFVD and CFVD traffic systems From August 2006 to August 2007 (1 year 1 month) Configuration Manager @ Responsible for change management and all code releases in the company, using a mixture of open source software and custom written code. From November 2005 to August 2006 (10 months) Emedia Systems Administrator @ Building, configuration and support of backend system for all mytravel websites, based purely on Sun Microsystems hardware, running apache / oracle / broadvision & anite web platform. Responsible for the migration to apache, and involved with the integration to Mytravel Sky TV live auction bidding. From 2003 to 2005 (2 years) Manchester, United KingdomProfessional Services @ Field Engineer for the PS division of Sun, qualified in E10k servicing, Sun Cluster configuration building and testing, and part of the runbook development team, for custom runbooks unique to each customer, based on existing documentation, php, and mysql. Before this I was part of the Benchmarking team, ( 1998 ), helping build and configure custom Sun hardware set-ups, ready for customer benchmarking. Randomly, I was also in charge or porting Quake II to the Sparc Solaris platform, working directly with ID Software, great perk of working for one of the biggest IT companies in the world at the time !
