For the last 15+ years, I’ve had the good fortune to work extensively on both the agency and client-side. As an agency “account guy,” I’ve managed strategists, creatives, media planners, print production managers, broadcast producers and, of course, clients. As a brand marketer, I’ve built annual plans, managed substantial media budgets, brokered strategic partnerships and worked extensively across several consumer touch-points — traditional and emerging. I’ve operated in local, regional and global capacities, with both general market and multicultural emphasis. Along the way I’ve gained a healthy knowledge of many aspects of marketing, working closely with consumer insights, promotional teams, sales, customer marketing, field marketing, bottlers, distributors and retailers.
Director, Global Digital @ I was recruited by Brown-Forman in the summer of 2012 to lead global digital marketing for the vodkas portfolio, specifically Finlandia. During my time there, I built strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, market teams and agency partners and created a digital marketing roadmap to drive future success.
In addition to this core responsibility, I routinely educated regional and local marketing teams on digital best practices, identified resource gaps, and provided ad hoc digital marketing consultation on a market-by-market basis.
I also co-founded Brown-Forman’s Digital Innovation Group, charged with leading the development of a new innovation strategy for the global digital marketing organization within the company. From August 2012 to May 2014 (1 year 10 months) Louisville, KentuckyManager, Interactive and Emerging Media @ I joined Dr Pepper Snapple Group in 2008 as part of the brand marketing organization. While there, I successfully led the digital function through growth spurts in media spending, web development, CRM, promotions, events, and of course – social, where I guided three brands to more than 1MM Facebook fans each.
While at DPSG, I applied my expertise to a host of products, including Snapple, 7UP, Sunkist, Mott’s, Hawaiian Punch and Clamato, to name a few. I planned and executed multi-million dollar activation budgets, managed creative and media agencies, and brokered strategic partnerships with Facebook, Google, and a host of other technology and content providers. From May 2008 to March 2012 (3 years 11 months) Plano, TexasAccount Manger @ I joined RD&F as their 8th employee and first dedicated account manager. While there, I built up the account service and project management and digital functions. I also oversaw broadcast business affairs, including talent and residuals, line production and spot trafficking and distribution.
And as you might imagine, working at a small agency gave me a chance to get my hands dirty on a daily basis. While there, I also dabbled in design, mechanical production and broadcast production while leading comprehensive advertising campaigns for clients like Methodist Health System, Fox & Jacobs, Best Maid and Verizon. From December 2004 to April 2008 (3 years 5 months) Dallas, TexasAccount Supervisor @ Following a successful run managing digital advertising for several of The Richards Group’s roster clients at Click Here, I was offered the chance to join their Chick-fil-A team at as account supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day aspects of all agency work – including point of purchase, TV, radio, print OOH and digital.
While in this role, I served as the agency representative at Chick-fil-A’s monthly marketing leadership meetings, led the agency’s advertising and promotional efforts surrounding the launch of Chick-fil-A’s Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich, and helped expand Chick-fil-A’s grand opening advertising program. From April 2003 to November 2004 (1 year 8 months) Dallas, TexasInteractive Account Executive @ Long before Click Here added the “Labs” to it’s name, I served as a digital account executive, contributing to the interactive marketing strategies of several clients while managing both media and creative work within the agency – including media trafficking and implementation, reporting and optimization, and the development and production of standard Flash and rich media ad units, websites and email campaigns. Much of my work from this time was recognized by various industry associations, including the IAB, ClickZ and MEDIA magazine.
My client group at Click Here was diverse and extensive, including: Bass Pro Shops, Candlewood Suites, Chick-fil-A, Florida Citrus, Go RVing, H-E-B, Travelocity and Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi. From October 2000 to March 2003 (2 years 6 months) Dallas, Texas
