With a background in Marketing and Management I started my career in the Superyacht industry in 1996 before spending 12 years at sea in positions from Deckhand to Captain. After travelling extensively and attaining my Master 3000 in 2001 I made the move ashore in 2007 to develop my career further. I worked for 2 yacht management
With a background in Marketing and Management I started my career in the Superyacht industry in 1996 before spending 12 years at sea in positions from Deckhand to Captain. After travelling extensively and attaining my Master 3000 in 2001 I made the move ashore in 2007 to develop my career further. I worked for 2 yacht management companies in the UK gaining valuable yacht, operational, crew, and budget management experience in addition to further developing client liaison and business development skills. I set up MGMT as I saw a need to remove the complication and confusion for private clients aiming to buy or build a Superyacht.
MGMT developed into a specialist advisory company but also branched out into Superyacht marketing in 2011 when we decided to promote London and the 2012 Olympics to the Superyacht industry. We also worked closely with a number of luxury brands, financial institutions, and venues in the build up to the Olympics as a way of developing not only our brand but also a comprehensive luxury offering for our growing number of Olympic clients.
Following the success of the Olympics MGMT spent some time working in the luxury services and concierge market and, as a result developed an extremely valuable network of trusted brands, suppliers and contacts from across the world who we are able to call on to supply clients as and when required.
We have recently, in the last two years got involved in crew services, specifically tax, wealth management, banking, insurance and legal advice. As areas that crew find notoriously complicated we set up Captains Family Office to assist crew in understanding their obligations as well as ensuring they are making the most of the money they earn.
I pride myself on my ability to make connections as a result of liking to look at and do things differently.
Above all I enjoy a marketing based approach to business. I like to do things differently and am always open to opportunities whatever they may be.

Built on a combined 35 years experience in the Superyacht sector we expanded on a concept we developed a number of years ago in order to offer those in the market for a new tender the benefit of our experience but also the opportunity to sell their outgoing boat via our brokerage site. From February 2014 to Present (1 year 10 months) Director @ I set up MGMT to provide impartial advice, consultancy, and support to owners, buyers, yacht management companies and associated service companies within the super yacht industry.

From December 2012 to June 2015 (2 years 7 months) London, United KingdomYacht manager @ I managed a number of the large yachts in the fleet (35m – 52m) and was responsible for all aspects of their operational management. The responsibilities included;
Yacht itinerary planning
Crew interview procedures
Project management including physical involvement in the ship yard process.
Development of procedures and protocols for managed yachts
I was also instrumental in the Development, production, compilation and approval process for a mini ISM manual and system. From 2009 to January 2012 (3 years) Business development @ Assistance with the development of the company brand and profile. From April 2009 to January 2011 (1 year 10 months) Yacht manager @ I was responsible for a number of the very large yachts in the managed fleet including two which fell outside of LY2. One was above 3000GRT and the other was passenger classification. This meant at times taking a different approach to the management of these yachts.
I took responsibility for all aspects of operational management including budgeting, refit management, and some involvement in accounting.
I was responsible for liaising directly with owners and their office teams and met with owners or their representatives on a monthly basis.
During my time at YCO I also took responsibility for finding and setting up their London office. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) First Officer @ From January 2004 to July 2007 (3 years 7 months)
