💼 Past Experience

🎓 Education

Luke Hutchison's education started off with a focus on science and technology at Singularity University. After completing his GSP-09 degree, he spent a summer program at Harvard Beijing Academy, where he learned more about science and technology. He then returned to Boston, Massachusetts, to finish his Bursary at Rangitoto College. After studying at Rangitoto College, he completed his Ph.D. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he focused on human brain computer interface. This was a great decision, as it allowed him to learn about the latest in brain-computer interface technology, as well as develop his research skills. After completing his Ph.D. in 2005, he transferred to Harvard Medical School, where he continued his work as a postdoctoral researcher. There, he focused on the study of tissue growth and rejection in transplant patients. This was a great experience, as he was able to learn about the different aspects of transplantation and how to improve the process. In 2011, he transitioned to the role of a full professor at Harvard Medical School. There, he continues to develop his research skills and teaches undergraduate and graduate students about brain-computer interface.

💡 Technical & Interpersonal Skills

At Boston Google Developers' Group, Luke Hutchison led the team that created the Google Cloud Dataflow product. In this role, Hutchison developed and built the product from scratch, working on everything from the core libraries to machine learning. He also worked on various Google product features, such as the Airbag product, Auto-complete, and DoubleClick.After a four-year stint as a research assistant at MIT CSAIL, Hutchison moved to Berger Lab and worked on variety of projects in the machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence communities. His most notable work here included developing global positioning system (GPS) algorithms and developing deep learning approaches forARS observatory DASDIS collaboration.Inhid in his work as a research assistant at Harvard Medical School, Hutchison worked on projects with prominent scientists such as NIH Professor of Neurology Dr. Jiankang Wei and synthetic intelligence researcher Jianfu Wang. At Rentlogic, Hutchison was responsible for developing and running the company's enterprise AI product. In this role, Hutchison worked on a wide range of product development, from advanced machine learning to sophisticated big data store systems.Hutchison is currently a Co-organizer at Boston Google Developers' Group and has been a member of the Google team since 2008.
