What drives me? Raising the standard and profile of ecommerce in my beloved adopted home - Australia. Having worked in the ecommerce/digital sector for close to 10 years I have developed a broad understanding of Australia’s online retail and digital media sector. My unique experience however lies in my role as Country Manager of ShopStyle.com.au- the Australian arm of the world’s best style-centric search engine. ShopStyle aggregates 400 local and international retail heavyweights such Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges as well as leading pureplay retailers like ASOS, Net-a-Porter and The Iconic. ShopStyle was ahead of the curve in Australia when it launched in May 2011 and as a result predominantly featured overseas merchants. In recent times the site has become a lot more localised and now features more multi-channel retailers like David Jones, Priceline and Country Road. Over the years I have gained valuable experience, insight and appreciation of best practice across a wide range of leading retailers and their cross border techniques. My global outlook through a local lens helps me to advise on international and local ecommerce strategy. ShopStyle.com.au is the Australian domain of the world leading ecommerce aggregator- ShopStyle. We are part of the hugely successful and influential POPSUGAR media group based in San Francisco but locally run via digital publisher allure media based in Sydney. With now over 4 years in business, the platform houses 2.5 million + products across 400 of the world’s best retail stores. With valuable US and UK guidance, ShopStyle.com.au has pioneered a fundamental shift in not only the way consumers shop in Australia but in how local and global retail brands reach a key shopping audience. Main roles and responsibilities include: • Leveraging off the effective launch and its initial success, the need for continuation of positive growth. • Focus on commercial performance- Revenue per customer and diversification of revenue streams. • Handling all aspects of marketing from digital to traditional; branding, merchandising and PR. • Responsible for business development and execution- Developing tactical new partnerships with retailers and media partners as well as the optimisation of key accounts. Key retail accounts include the best in pureplay and multi-channel such as Net-a-Porter, ASOS and Shopbop to Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom. From January 2011 to Present (4 years 11 months) Senior Account Manager, GetPrice @ From July 2010 to January 2011 (7 months) Account Manager @ As an Account Manager I primarily focus on Business Development and New Revenue Generation, including: • Market Research to identify new business leads and potential prospects (eg. Via Google, Competitors and databases etc) • Cold calling prospects, targeting online retailers to obtain their commitment to list their products on the Getprice website and partner network at a negotiated Cost-per-Click (CPC) rate. • Preparation and maintenance of sales collateral and presentations at a senior level. • Managing existing accounts and up-selling these accounts on new promotional and advertising opportunities across Getprice. • Weekly reporting to management on leads, prospects, sales, market feedback and other opportunities. • Managing data feeds, product placement and other technical issues for clients. • Working with clients to optimise their performance, meet their needs and improve conversion rates using relevant data and online knowledge. • Developing relationships with key accounts, relevant agencies and 3rd parties. • Interact with the broader digital marketing and online industry in Australia in order to represent Getprice and build a network of contacts.
