Kim currently serves as SVP-HR Business Partner for American Express' Global Corporate Services. Kim is responsible for directing a human resources team covering 40,000 employees, playing a critical role in the development and delivery of human capital strategies in support of an ambitious set of business goals.
Kim joined American Express as VP, Human Resources for Global Commercial Card in March of 2008. She most recently served as Senior HR Business Partner for U.S. Consumer Services, part of the time while simultaneously holding the role of Vice President for Executive Talent Planning for Amex's executives globally.
Prior to joining Amex, Kim spent 2 years with Home Depot and 9 years with General Electric in Appliances, Capital and Energy in positions of increasing responsibility. At Home Depot, she was VP-HR for a $4 billion division. At GE, she joined the Human Resources Leadership Program with GE Appliances and had assignments as a generalist, in labor relations, and as a Black Belt. Throughout her career at GE, she had HR responsibility for thousands of people globally, with international offices in Europe, Asia, UAE, and Latin America.
Kim holds a law degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Indiana University. She has delivered workshops on talent management, career-pathing, leadership development and HR legalities nationally and internationally.
