Since he first began browsing the internet, Jordan Thurston has often been examining different topics related to education. In his spare time, he focuses on trying to figure out how to improve his grades so he can pursue a better education for himself. In high school, Thurston focused on playing football and studied for tests related to that. Although the focus was firmly on academics, he was also given some opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities. Thurston was a two-time varsity quarterback for his high school and also played some baseball. Thurston truly enjoyed participating in various activities, as they helped him stay motivated in academics and also maintain a close relationships with his classmates. As he started junior year of high school, Thurston began toying with the idea of majoring in education. He was Gryphon Athlete’s MVP in his 4th grade year and had won First-Team All-state honors his previous two seasons at Spring-Ford High School. Thurston ultimately narrowed his options to education and business administration.Thurston obtained his B.A. from the University of North Texas in 2018. Thurston was a three-time First-Team All-state quarterback for the Mean Green and also completed all but one of his passing attempts as a senior. Thurston's highlight at UNT came when he led the Mean Green to the College Football Playoff in 2017 after being a semifinalist the previous two seasons. Thurston'll continue his education at Tarrant County College where he will earn an M.B.A. in 2020. Thurston's interest in education began in middle and high school. Thurston found that he enjoyed exploring different topics related to education, which helped him focus on his studies. Thurston is currently a research assistant for the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Thurston is interested in pursuing a graduate degree in business administration, as he would like to help improve businesses and further his research in the field. Thurston plans to attend graduate school for a minimum of two years to gain the required experience and expertise to pursue a career in business.
