The new organization, eBusiness, was created to focus solely on kp.org and its associated web sites supporting brokers, purchasers/customers, Medicare-eligible prospective members, and students. As Director for Application Development I provided overall leadership and direction to group of geographically dispersed staff who were responsible for the development, quality assurance, and program and project management for kp.org. I led the development for KP's first venture into the mobile world and in early 2012 launched the mobile optimized version of kp.org m.kp.org. From December 2008 to November 2012 (4 years) San Francisco Bay AreaDirector, Web Development Group @ Kaiser Permanente Promoted to lead the Web Development Group. The Web Development Group was responsible for enhancing and maintaining kp.org and enhancing and maintaining Kaiser's Intranet. Provided overall leadership and direction to five direct reports and a department of 150+ geographically dispersed employees and contractors. Directed development, quality assurance, program and project management, and "common services" for search and content management for all kp.org and KP's primary Intranet sites/applications. From May 2000 to February 2001 (10 months) San Francisco Bay AreaDirector, IT Operations @ IBM Global Services/Chiron Corporation Directed transition of IT operations to IBM Global Services as part of a ten year, $140 million outsourcing contract. Managed the 24x7x365 day-to-day technical support organization to maintain Chiron’s information services, including systems support for the corporate global systems. Oversaw operation of the data network infrastructure supporting the HQ campus and the global wide area network, as well as HQ campus voice systems. Managed provision of help desk services, desk-side support, and end user training, and supervised corporate IT standards and projects affecting more than 7,000 people in facilities on four continents. Managed departmental budget, staffing, strategic IT initiatives, projects creation and funding approvals, and service level objectives and agreements.
