When I started as an institutional salesman on Wall Street I struggled at first. Then I had some "ah ha!" moments that enabled me to become one of the top performers at a major firm in less than a year. In essence, it was the realization the lost sale was the most important one ... to increase the chances of closing the next one would require the specific knowledge of the client's reasons for not buying, and getting that information to the product people as efficiently and diligently as possible. As one of our current retail clients sums it up nicely "conversion is mostly a matter of having the right products, in the right place, at the right time."
Importantly the "ah ha!" discoveries would have gone no where had I not incorporated them in an algorithm on my own desktop CRM software, enabling me to quickly acquire and relay this information, making it part of my daily routine. This was way back in the early 90's, well before the dawn of mobile. Fast forward to today, and when I go into retail stores I see salespeople having this same lost sale capture opportunity on their mobile devices. From this sprang "Mentorica", a Company that uses emerging cloud, mobile and big data analytics technology to bring the big data advantage of e-Commerce to bricks and mortar.
I have recruited the crème de la crème in technology and business to join me in this exciting project.
