The group consisted of several departments of account managers, process engineers, electronics designers, operations supervisors and associates, material planners, buyers, and warehouse supervisors and associates. There were approximately 300 in total. This business unit achieved best in class commercial metrics (PBT%/GM%; GM grew 4X from FY02-FY04). Our revenue went from $49M to $97M, and our number of customer increased from 6 to over 15.• Drove gross margin and profitability productivity through lean methods in all areas of operations and business flow. • Delivered outstanding customer satisfaction through organization design tenets (accountability and autonomy); serviceability tenets around flexibility and precise execution; BU level planning that always ensured resources were always available to profitably service our customer’s needs.• Created a global launch process and service for our small and medium sized customers enabling them to have rapid time to market and domestic channel fill volumes followed closely by pipelined supply from low cost geography facility. • Built a world class team and benchmark operation from a combination of resources from two acquisitions: IBM and Texas Instruments. Early on there were culture and process clashes. I brought the team together through a new structure and set of tenets and processes that served the customer. This enabled us to win together.
